Forbes Machinery is celebrating 30 years in business with the original partners still heading up the firm. In May 1987, Robert McKeown, Ken Sly and Ian Davies opened the business – on the current site – with a staff of three. Today Forbes Machinery Centre, on the Parkes Road, has evolved into a market leader within Forbes and surrounding areas.

The directors have grown Forbes Machinery into a successful and well-respected business employing 15 people. They purchased the block of land they are on a few years after opening and have expanded their premises five times, with the most recent renovations to the parts showroom. The team has operated Cowra Machinery Centre since 2000 and they now have 15 staff at that site as well.

Business hasn’t always been easy – the farming sector has seen highs and lows and agricultural businesses are also affected by those tough times of drought and flood. Good customer service has always been key to what Forbes Machinery has to offer, and the three business partners have always appreciated the full support of their wives.

The loyalty of clients and the dedication of past and present staff is also crucial. With dramatic changes in the farming sector, including the computerisation of much farming technology, Forbes Machinery Centre and its staff also have to stay up to date with the latest. Our service team provides leading-edge diagnostic services to keep you moving as well as all your parts requirement.
